Mosul, Iraq – According to the media agency Rudaw, Abo Bashar Mitewti, a high-ranking commander of the terror group Islamic State (IS) who is responsible for the capture of the region of Sinjar and for the abduction of Yezidi women and girls, got killed through an air attack by the US Air Force. He and five other members of the IS died in Dar Al-Ziafe not far from Mosul.
As an eye witness reported towards Rudaw, Abu Bashar Mitewti offered the abducted women and girls on slave markets in Mosul after the storming of Sinjar. Furthermore, he issued the order to imprison all women.
The increased US air attacks in Iraq damage the stability of the IS, so that its fighters react with the execution of two American Journalists. Through this, they wanted to warn US president Obama to stop his intervention in Iraq. However, Obama announced further attacks towards the IS, and considers to extend them to Syria.
