Sinune – Units of the Kurdish YPG and PKK negotiated yesterday the release of 51 Ezidis from Raqqa as part of a prisoner exchange with the terrorist militia Islamic State. Among those released are 10 women and 41 children who were abducted from the northern Iraqi Shingal region and forced into slavery 19 months ago.

In exchange for the women and children, two IS prisoners were handed over to IS by YPG/PKK forces. The released Ezidis were soon afterwards transferred from Syria to Sinune north of Sharfadeen in Shingal and are supposed to undergo medical treatment.
