25 armed fighters have joined Shingal´s Resistance Unit (YBS) to put up resistance against ISIS terrorists. The volunteers were trained by Kurdish YPG forces in a training camp called Dawreshe Avdi which has been primarily built for YBS units. Dawreshe Avdi is the name of a legendary folk hero of Ezidi origin.
On August 26, the recruits were sworn in for the fight. YBS commander Dilsher Herekol stated that the YBS was established “in revenge for the genocide”, pledging to defend Ezidis until the end: “We will fight these terrorists – until the last drop of our blood.”
