Mosul – Three Ezidi child soldiers who were forcibly recruited by the terrorist militia “Islamic State” have been killed in armed clashes. Independent activists from the area of Mosul confirmed the incident. According to a local activist operating under a pseudonymous called Mosul Eye which is allegedly run by a local historian and historic researcher who discloses ISIS´s terror in Mosul to the world , the children were deployed and used in battle near Alkouiyr where they eventually died.

It is said to be the second time ISIS makes use of child soldiers. The children were abducted by ISIS in August last year from Shingal region and then drilled militarily.

In a detailed report, the UN Human Rights Commission reported that the terrorist militia abducted children between the age of 8 and 15 and subsequently trained them as terrorists. In training camps located in their strongholds such as Tal Afar, Mosul and Raqqa children are being trained on military exercises, which is an evident violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Iraq is one of those states which have ratified the Convention.

Ezidi children that were freed from ISIS told UN experts to have been forced to watch videos of beheadings  in order to “toughen themselves”. If they resisted, they were beaten, the UN report says. Even in its propaganda videos, ISIS deliberately displays children: Alleged spies, for example, are being shot in the head by minors in front of a camera. The French news agency France 24 published a report showing two Ezidi boys who recognize their friends in one of ISIS´s videos.

Up to 7,000 Ezidis were abducted by ISIS, in particular children and women. Ezidi associations claim that about 1,000 children were forcibly converted and trained to become Jihadists.
